Overview

In addition to print books, Northern Regional College Library service provides access to many e-books in a variety of subject areas. An electronic book (e-book) is a publication made available in digital format. There are just over 1500 electronic books chosen to suit subject specific requirements. Staff and students have electronic access to these internally (when in the College) and externally (NRC username and password required to access). The College subscribes to two key e-book publishers (Ebook Central and EBSCO e-books) to help you with your studies. These may be accessed wherever and whenever you need them - online 24/7 anytime, anywhere!

EBSCO eBooks

EBSCO eBooks provides online versions of printed books. This collection of e-books continues to expand and is useful if you are studying subjects such as: Animal Care, Business, Construction, Early Years, Education, English (CCEA), Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Catering, Mathematics (CCEA), Research, and Social Policy. EBSCO eBooks may be accessed via the site from your tablet or phone, and allows e-books to be download for offline reading.

Northern Regional College has selected ProQuest Ebook Central as a key e-book provider. Ebook Central delivers, with breadth and depth of e-books from scholarly sources, including University Presses and other top publishers. This collection covers a broad range of subject areas. Coverage is mainly in; Arts, Business, Childcare, Construction, Education, Engineering, Health, History and Politics, Hospitality, Management, Law, Literature & Language, Social Sciences, Science and Technology.

E-books from Ebook Central can be accessed via the site from your tablet or phone, and allows e-books to be download for offline reading.

Read Yourself Well - eBook collection

A Joint initiative taken forward by Northern Regional College and Northern Health & Social Care Trust to help people to understand and manage their health and well-being using self-help reading. Recently the Northern Health and Social Care Trust has launched a ‘Death Positive Library’ in partnership with the College, building on the success of the ‘Read Yourself Well’ project.
