A Guide to City & Guilds Learning Assistant

As a student, you may be using an electronic portfolio or e-portfolio to complete your course. Some courses at Northern Regional College use Learning Assistant by City & Guilds. Your tutor will tell you if you need to use Learning Assistant and will provide you with a username and password.

Login into Learning Assistant

A student's e-portfolio is an online folder with all their work for their course and other forms of educational evidence assembled for the purpose of:

Evaluating coursework quality and learning progress;
Determining whether students have met learning criteria or other academic requirements for courses;
Helping students reflect on their academic goals and progress as learners;
Creating a lasting archive of academic work, accomplishments, and other documentation

Tracking Progress with E-Portfolios

Documents and media that you include in your E-Portfolio act as evidence of your skills, experiences and knowledge. Examples of some of the evidence documents includes essays, videos, lab reports, forms, diagrams and photographs. As you gather materials for your e-portfolio, remember to consider how the evidence demonstrates that you have met the necessary criteria for assessment.

The evidence examples page lists some of the evidence documents you could include in your e-portfolio. These are just examples; you are welcome to include evidence documents not listed.
